what is a friend?

There are so many people who misuse the word friend. They use the word for acquaintances, for people they see or speak to regularly. Misuse of the word cheapens when it is given, and harms other relationships seeking to find shelter under the word.

I would hope, someday, that people who say they are someone's friend, actually are.
